Web development agency NetConstruct overcame fierce competition at the International 404 Awards in Las Vegas earlier this month, picking up the trophy for ‘Best Visitor Engagement’ for its creative approach to the Ryobi Tools’ website 404 page.

Hosted by Kentico Software - provider of an all-in-one CMS and ecommerce platform - the awards formed part of the 3-day 404 Conference at the Mirage mega-resort on the Las Vegas strip. A unique event exploring excellence through error, the key themes focused on learning from mistakes as a means to becoming more effective, more strategic marketers and developers.

NetConstruct saw off competition from a shortlist of 31 awards entries, shaking the room with its 404 redirection page which uses physics-based web rendering to show a DIY shelving disaster, which you can view here.

“We saw the awards as an opportunity to demonstrate our creativity as well as our coding prowess,” said Jonathan Healey, MD at NetConstruct.

“We wanted to do something which not only grabbed the attention and entertained but communicated the essence of the Ryobi brand and encouraged visitors to continue their journey through the website. We were up against some very stiff competition and we’re delighted that we emerged victorious.”
